App accounts and Google sign-in

When you choose Continue with Google, Google shares your account identifier, email address and verification status, and basic profile information such as your name and profile picture when provided. We use this information to create or identify your StashOnce account, sign you in, and associate your saved items and account access with you.

We request basic identity, email and profile permissions only. Google sign-in does not give StashOnce access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, contacts or other Google account content. We do not receive your Google password.

The app sends a Google identity token to Supabase, our authentication provider, to verify your sign-in and create a StashOnce session. Supabase stores account and sign-in information. The app keeps session credentials on your device so you can remain signed in. Microsoft Azure hosts our application services, which use your StashOnce account identifier to manage access to your data.

We use Google sign-in information for account authentication, account features, support and security. We do not sell it or use it for advertising. Signing in does not subscribe you to marketing or research emails. Google's handling of your Google account is covered by Google's privacy policy.

Sign in with Apple

When you choose Continue with Apple, we request your Apple account identifier and email address for sign-in. You can choose Hide My Email, in which case Apple provides a private relay address. We do not request your name or receive your Apple password, iCloud content, contacts or photos.

Supabase verifies Apple's identity token and creates your StashOnce session. On Android, Apple's response passes through a callback hosted on stashonce.com and returns to the installed app; that callback does not store the response. We use Apple sign-in information for authentication, account features, support and security, not advertising or sale. It does not subscribe you to marketing emails.

You can manage Sign in with Apple in your Apple Account settings. Revoking permission does not itself delete your StashOnce account or saved content; the access, correction and deletion choices below also apply to Apple accounts. Apple's handling of your account is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

Your saved content

StashOnce stores the links, text, notes and media you choose to save, together with information needed to organise and show them in your account. Storage and application hosting providers process this data for us. When a saving feature retrieves or interprets a source, relevant links and content may also be processed by acquisition and AI providers. Google sign-in does not grant those providers access to your Google account.

Photos and text you save to StashOnce yourself are sent to Google's Gemini API to suggest a title, photos as a reduced copy without photo metadata, and are not used to train its models.

Shared collections

You can share a collection by sending its invite link. Anyone signed in to StashOnce who has the link can join, so send it only to people you want in the collection. The link shows the collection’s name to anyone who has it, before they sign in or join, and messaging apps may show the name in their link preview. The person who shared the collection sees everyone who joined, can remove anyone, and can reset the link to turn off the old one.

Everyone in a shared collection sees the other members’ display names, never their email addresses, and the saves each member adds, including the titles they give them. Members can copy a save into their own stash. Your notes stay private, and so do saves you don’t add to a shared collection.

If you leave a shared collection, or are removed, the saves you added leave it and stay in your stash. Copies other members made, and anything already on their devices, can’t be taken back.

Usage analytics

The app records how it is used, such as which screens are opened, how the library is sorted and whether a save or purchase succeeded, together with the app version, device model, operating system, the country your device is set to, a random identifier for each visit, whether you have Premium and roughly how many saves your library holds. Before you sign in these records carry a random installation identifier; after you sign in they are linked to your account. They never include the links, text, notes or media you save, your searches or your email address.

We use usage analytics only to understand and improve StashOnce. They are kept by us on our own analytics service, for 13 months, and are never used for advertising, sold or shared with other companies. You can turn off Share usage analytics in the app under Account, then Privacy, at any time; the app then stops sending them from that device until you turn it back on. It still records that you changed the setting, and the sign-ins described next.

Even with usage analytics off, the app records each sign-in: which account signed in, on which device model and operating system, and with which app version. Support uses these sign-in records to help when someone signs in with a different account and finds their saves missing. They are kept for the same period as usage analytics.

Account retention and your choices

We retain account information while your account exists and as needed to provide the service. You can sign out in the app and manage StashOnce's Google connection in your Google Account connections. Removing Google's permission does not itself delete your StashOnce account or saved content.

To request access to, correction of or deletion of your account information and saved content, contact hello@stashonce.com. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you. Some records may need to be retained for security or legal obligations; deletion from backups follows their retention cycle. We will explain any applicable limits when responding to your request.

Beta signup

When you ask for the beta on this website, we email you the links to install StashOnce straight away. This is not a mailing list: asking for the beta does not subscribe you to marketing emails. We may email you again about the beta you asked for, such as when the Android or iPhone beta opens.

What we keep from a beta signup

Your email, when you asked and how many times, and when we last emailed you the links. If the link you followed to our signup page carried a campaign code, such as one from a StashCook email, we keep that code with your signup so we can count which announcements work. If you later sign in to StashOnce with the same email address, we note which account your signup became, so we can count how many signups from each campaign start using the app. We don’t use cookies or tracking pixels for this. A beta signup does not create an app account or give us access to anything you have saved.

How email reaches you

We store beta signups in our own database and send the email through our own Amazon Simple Email Service account, as we do sign-in codes. Amazon Simple Email Service processes email delivery and bounce or complaint reports. We do not track email opens or link clicks.

Beta signup retention

We keep a beta signup until you ask us to delete it or delete your StashOnce account, which deletes it too. To request deletion, contact hello@stashonce.com.
